Furniture Foundation Course – 5 days

9am – 4.30 pm

Level – Those who have completed our 1- or 2-day experiences.

This is an immersive week in the workshop for those wanting to develop deeper furniture-making skills.

Over five days, you will have the flexibility to design and build a solid timber side table or stool - guided through each stage of the process with structured, hands-on instruction.

This course focuses on understanding the material as much as the method — building both skill in using hand tools and all the common woodworking machines.

This course will leave you ready to set-up your own shop and go make something beautiful for you, your family or friends.

This course covers:

  • Design
  • Timber selection and preparation
  • Safe and correct use of workshop machinery and power tools
  • Recap on hand tool use.
  • Traditional joinery techniques
  • Accurate fitting and alignment
  • Assembly and gluing.
  • Surface preparation and finishing.

With a maximum of six participants, the course allows for proper supervision, guidance and individual attention throughout the week.
